Between urban jungle and natural idyll

The “goldene Haus” in Berlin lives up to its name: When the sun shines, the entire facade is bathed in a golden light thanks to its unique colouring. But that is not the only thing that makes this new building in Berlin unique: The location on the Stralau peninsula in Berlin's Friedrichshain district offers everything needed for modern city life. Referred to as the “small water city”, Stralau has enjoyed one of the highest rates of incoming migration in Berlin for many years. In order to meet this demand, the unparalleled Spreegold, a striking building, was created in recent years. With an unobstructed view of the Spree river, 114 residential units are spread over eleven floors. Ventilation systems from Helios Ventilatoren provide a pleasant feel-good climate in the apartments.

Controlled domestic ventilation provides fresh air around the clock

A controlled ventilation system with heat recovery provides fresh air around the clock so that not only the furnishing with natural stone elements and real wood parquet flooring meets the highest standards, but also the indoor climate leaves nothing to be desired. This guarantees a continuous air exchange without user action (even in the absence of residents) and thus continuously achieves a pleasant feel-good climate. Floor-to-ceiling windows can still be opened as desired, however, this is no longer necessary at regular intervals to improve air quality.

Ventilation technology remains discreet in the background

Ventilation units KWL EC 300 and KWL EC 500 were used. Individually adapted to size and floorplan, the ventilation system continuously supplies each individual apartment with fresh air. The ventilation units were installed in the utility rooms above the washing machines and they direct the fresh supply air into the entire apartment or discharge the stale air to the outside via the roof. Since it was already decided to use a KWL system in the planning phase, the air distribution in the individual apartments was realised in suspended ceilings. The ventilation ducts are installed in a star shape, i.e. the air ducts lead directly into the rooms without branching off from the ventilation unit. The flexible Helios FlexPipe Plus ducts, which are particularly variable in use due to the high-quality material selection, were installed. This means that even tighter bending radii do not pose a major challenge during installation. The star-shaped installation and the obligatory silencers ensure a noiseless supply of fresh, tempered air to the living rooms.
